  • Carroll Canyon Mixed Use Development

    The final Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Apartment and Commercial complex on Carroll Canyon Road at I-15 has been released by the City of San Diego. The entire EIR is available here. The Scripps Ranch Planning Group will hear this item in committee starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, July 6, at the Library. The meeting is open to the public. The project requires a zoning change as well as a variety of permits. The full Planning Group will then vote on its recommendation for this project to the Planning Commission and City Council.

    Rob Holmes, SRCA 50 Plus Chair, hosted the first ever event focused solely on connecting local community groups and non-profits to each other and then to residents. He provided a very successful forum for collaboration, discussion, and outreach -- wrapped up in fun and music. It's one of the many ways SRCA helps our neighborhood stay connected.

  • Stargazing in West Sycamore

    The San Diego Astronomy Association (SDAA) is staging a public Stars at Mission Trails on the fourth Friday of each month from 7 to 10:00 p.m., October thru May (No Star Party in November and December is the third Friday), and 8:00 to 10:30 p.m., June thru September.

    The event is held at the MTRP West Sycamore Staging Area, which is located at the very east end of Stonebridge Parkway in Scripps Ranch. Rain and or coudy skies cancels event.

Col. Dingeman / SRCA Scholarship

bobdingemanThe Col. Dingeman / SRCA Scholarship is open to Scripps Ranch High School seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a history of outstanding community volunteer service in the tradition of Col. Dingeman. The Committee will select two to three students to each receive a $1,000 award.

Selected recipients will be announced and presented with the scholarship checks at the SRHS’ awards night. Recipients will also be honored at the 4th of July Parade.

Each Fall, the Committee will establish the timeline and deadline dates for submission.

Student Application Process

· Write a cover letter, including contact information, current classes, GPA, and other current information for an adult who is familiar with your volunteer work.

· Write a one-page essay on why you are an exceptional community volunteer.

· Email the cover letter and essay to all three committee members at [email protected] by the deadline date.

· The Committee will interview all applicants in the SRHS counseling office.
