A natural disaster, like the San Diego County firestorms, can be sudden and overwhelming. It takes a catastrophic toll on lives and property but also impacts community residents in less obvious ways. It is common for children and adults who have been through such a traumatic event to have varied reactions and to experience thoughts and feelings unlike anything in their past.

We have included links to many websites which will help you learn more about normal reactions to disasters as well as resources in the San Diego community to help reduce the impact of this trauma on you and your family.
