  • Sustainable SR Bus and Walking Tour

    Posted March 7, 2017

    Saturday, March 25, 10am
Join us for another of our Local Adventures in Paradise. Our first trip went by bus and trolley to Little Italy and downtown. Our last trip traveled by bus and trolley to the surprising neighborhoods of Grant Hill, Sherman Heights, and Golden Hill, with lunch at the Garlic Shack. This time, YOU get to vote on our itinerary: walking bridges and parks of Hillcrest and Mission Hills, or little-known but gorgeous Olivewood Gardens plus a Bayfront lunch in National City, or the murals and street life of Barrio Logan. We'll travel by bus and trolley (good for practice) OR we'll carpool - you decide.
This tour is limited to 15 participants so sign up early. If you're interested, contact Lynn Owens. Let's explore together and have fun!

  • Carroll Canyon Mixed Use Project

    Posted February 19, 2017

The city released a draft environmental impact report (DEIR) in January for the proposed project at the northeast corner of Carroll Canyon Road and Interstate 15. The project would include about 260 apartments and 10,700 square feet of retail space for restaurants and small businesses. This project is a replacement for a previously proposed commercial shopping center, which the community opposed.

Comments are due no later than Monday, Feb. 27. The Scripps Ranch Planning Group (SRPG) has prepared a response to the DEIR which is available through the link below.
