Guiding Principles
for Scripps Ranch Schools The following general principles have been established jointly by the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and the Scripps Ranch community to guide planning actions on solutions to school issues. A community consensus will be secured for any change in these principles. Primary Principles 1. The guiding principle incorporated in all school solutions is to provide the highest quality educational experience for all students. 2. The priority is children, implementation of instructional program, and parents, in that order. Secondary Principles · The maximum number of Scripps Ranch students will attend Scripps Ranch schools. · All reboundary actions will be minimized and school enrollment will be stabilized to the maximum extent possible, based on the size of each facility. · Essential safety factors, including transportation, will be incorporated into all options of modification of school attendance patterns. · All options to solve the projected and continued overcrowding of Marshall Middle School, pending the construction of a new middle school, will be considered. · All SDUSD schools in the Scripps Ranch community are available to serve the need of the entire District as well as Scripps Ranch and vice versa.
