SDUSD is hosting a meeting on Wednesday at SR High School Library beginning at 6 pm until 8 pm to discuss what should be studied in drafting the Environmental Impact Report. The EIR once drafted it will then be made available for public comment before it is certified by the school board when they consider approving the 66 year lease to Monarch Development to build 264 apartments. The site is located at the southeast corner of Scripps Poway Parkway and Spring Canyon. The Innovations' Academy and the SR Farmers Market leases expire June 2018.
The purpose of the meeting is to fulfill the Notice of Preparation requirement to gather community input on the scope and content of the draft EIR. Project scoping/content comments can include:
- Potential environmental impacts of the proposed project;
- Technical issues like biologic, greenhouse gases, traffic, public safety, aesthetics, cumulative impacts, noise, light, etc;
- Policy issues;
- Potential mitigation measures; and
- Appropriate range of reduced alternatives.
All project scoping comments must be submitted by February 6, 2017.
It is the mission of the SRCA to not only to provide you information about projects being proposed in SR but also to provide your concerns to decision makers. We are likely the only town council in the County of San Diego that sends emails like this to residents.
