Born November 25, 1963 in the small town of Pocatello, ID to Robert and Constance Cox, he was the youngest of five children. Chris Cox enlisted in the Navy after high school and was proud to serve 21 years. After serving 21 years in the United States Navy, he began his second career with the Department of Navy until present in San Diego, CA. He was a passionate manager and leader who loved his job and cared for the people he worked with. On February 19, 2005, he married Beth. The love Chris and Beth had for one another was very special. As a partner, friend, shipmate and neighbor Chris made people feel good, he was calm, giving, caring, steady, strong, reliable and trustworthy. Chris is survived by his wife of nine years, Beth; his daughter, Cassidy; his son, Robbie; his brother, Geoff Cox; and sisters, Debbie Cox and Stacy Kuntz. Chris was a special human being! He loved life as he always had a smile for everyone and always had a good natured kidding comment for all to keep the smiles and laughs flowing. His neighbors remember him best for his cooking and annual Christmas Parties. Chris’ interests were many including people, cooking, cars, remodeling, basketball, softball, football, weightlifting, golf, and skiing. He coached Little League Baseball and Scripps Ranch Pop Warner Football, and volunteered as SRPW Association board member. What an example of determination and strength Chris was. He will long be remembered as a source of encouragement, advice, and moral support. He was a great Sailor and an even greater man. We will miss his easy laugh, fierce intelligence, and peerless professional competence. He left us all way too soon. Please join us in the celebration of Chris’ life.
