The 4th of July is one of the greatest days in Scripps Ranch! The SRCA hosts the 4th of July Parade as we have for the past 51 years. A true small town tradition.

In 2021, we had the only parade in the City of San Diego! This event is normally planned over the course of 4 months, but the city just gave approval 3 weeks before the event!

We need your help!

1. Funding Need: The SRCA needs your financial help to pay for the parade which usually costs about $7000. Help us financially please to continue this great tradition in Scripps Ranch.

Costs include traffic control, equipment rental, truck rental, two-way radio rental, insurance, sound system rental, printing, trash/recycling, paying the SD Police Department for traffic control personnel for street closures, and more. Thank you for your support! See the link below to contribute.

2. Be In the Parade: We need groups and individuals to sign up to march in the parade. This can be neighborhood groups, Facebook groups, community groups, churches, temples, schools, scouts, sports teams, dance groups, theater groups, car clubs, businesses, pet groups, lawnmower dads, convertible drivers; cheerleaders, fitness clubs, etc (no political campaigns), use your imagination. Get your group together and let’s make this a great parade!

Parade – Plan to Join the Fun

Come and participate in your community and enjoy a fun-filled day for family and friends.

As a spectator, you can cheer on your neighbors and friends who are in the parade. But, why not dress up as well and join in the fun?

Scripps Ranch residents are encouraged to join with neighbors to dress up in parade theme costumes and walk the parade or to decorate a vehicle representing their neighborhood.

We also encourage our local businesses, social groups and dignitaries to be a participant in the parade. If your neighborhood group, business, or organization is interested in participating in the SRCA 4th of July Parade, please download the application form by clicking on the link above.

It has been a tradition for the SRCA to provide a convertible and driver for our dignitaries. If you own a convertible and can be at the event to transport one of our dignitaries, please contact Gary Clark at 858-695-6916 or [email protected]

We are seeking volunteers from the community who would like to dress up in costume and perform in the parade or at the park. Possible ideas are to perform as a clown in costume or as a mime or as a magician. Do you have other ideas? Join the festivities by sharing your special talent with the community. Contact Gary Clark at [email protected]

Anyone else who would like to be a Parade Marshall or help in other ways should contact Parade Co-Chair Gary Clarke at [email protected]

While the parade and festivities are organized and set up by volunteers, your financial support is needed to pay for city permits, traffic control, security and entertainment at the park plus all the other expenses that go with sustaining large crowds.
