WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 2023
8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. or until the dumpers are full (past years they filled up before 12:00 P.M.)
Volunteer assistance provided by the SRCA Sustainable SR, SRCA Neighborhood Watch, Rotary Club of Poway-Scripps and Mary Lawler.
The dumpsters are in two locations: Scripps Ranch Technology Business Park on Meanley Drive and the SRCA Community Center at 11885 Cypress Canyon Road.
Recycling for household batteries is available at both locations. Appreciation to Mary Lawler of Windermeire Homes and Estates for battery recycling.
Used cell phones recycling collection at both locations as well. Money raised goes to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence nonprofit.
No electronics, paint, appliances, light bulbs or tires. Please no cardboard and greenery (use home containers for free). Mattresses can be disposed of for free at Mattress Firm warehouse off Miramar Road (only when they are open). The City of San Diego landfill has “Bye Bye Mattress” disposal program beginning September 2023 at the Convoy location. Mattress collection hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with the site closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Mattresses and box springs must not be severely damaged, wet, twisted, frozen, soiled or infested with bedbugs, a city statement reads.
Be prepared to unload your vehicle directly into the dumpsters. Please consider offering usable items on Buy Nothing Scripps Ranch.
This is your chance to make the Ranch sparkle, so get out and pick up your property. Then, for the public good, clean up an open space or public area near you. Scripps Ranch is our home and we take great pride in its appearance.
There will be a Garage Sale on Saturday, October 14th from 7:30 pm to 12;30 pm. Hosted by Mary Lawler and San Diego Castles Realty.
The SRCA pays for the dumpster rentals at market rate cost and the City of San Diego waives the dump fees. The city charges $50 and more per vehicle and membership for the SRCA is $40 per year. It pays for itself and you are contributing to the community by cleaning out your garage! You can contribute at www.scrippsranch.org/join
