Due to recent events in Scripps Ranch namely at/near Jerabek Park, Jerabek Elementary School, Miramar Ranch Elementary, Marshall Middle School, Scripps Ranch High School and the Ranch at Scripps Trail retail center within the past year, the SRCA is hosting an online Zoom meeting with City of San Diego City Attorney Mara Elliott with her Deputy City Attorneys, San Diego Police Department Captain Mike Holden and Lt. David Bautista to talk about what has happened and actions being taken to ensure the public’s safety. San Diego Unified School District administrators and San Diego Unified School District Police Department leadership were invited to participate.
The City Attorney of San Diego is prosecuting an adult resident on two charges that are expected to be resolved Monday, June 6th. Concerned community members have been in constant communication with the prosecutor to voice concerns and to provide additional background information. A great deal of work by the community has brought various agencies together to address complex legal issues. Referrals were made to the San Diego County District Attorney and San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center for threat assessment guidance.
The SRCA is bringing you this important meeting to provide you verified information and a forum to ask questions so that you are well informed. We want you to be safe at home, at school, at work and in Scripps Ranch.
If you are unable to attend the Zoom meeting, we are holding an in person briefing at the SRCA board meeting Tuesday, June 14th at 7 pm at Scripps Ranch Libary Community Room. The meeting is open to the public.
