The SRCA is looking at the Coronavirus pandemic as a marathon, not a sprint. We are working on a couple responses for the community. One of them is that we assembled a panel of medical experts who live in SR to provide advice to the SRCA so that we can provide accurate and timely information to questions/concerns/confusion. We are following CDC guidelines and SD County protocols. The idea is to help you understand what is being told to us to follow. Updates are occuring nearly every day. The other part of our program is to help those who are unable to help themselves and match willing volunteers to assist. The SRCA created [email protected].
The first question we recieved was whether those quarantined at MCAS Miramar could spread the virus in the air to us in SR. In limited situations like in a room or close proximity with someone coughing a tremendous amout to create an aersol mist then possibly. Those who are intubated or using nebulizers are at risk. In that case the virus may spread tens of yards; not miles in distance.
If you are unable to leave your home, please let us know who you are by emailing us. If you willing to volunteer to help, please also email us using [email protected]
