David Koravos, a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at home on May 16, 2024, after a brave battle with lung cancer. David was born to Vincent and Caroline Koravos in Lowell, MA on July 2, 1946. He grew up in Westford, MA where his life-long passion for golf first took hold. He graduated from the University of Miami where he played on the golf team.David started his career with United Way in Miami, Florida. In 1978, after a stop in Cleveland, David moved to United Way of San Diego as Executive Vice President of Development. He settled in Scripps Ranch where he lived for 46 years. David was well known and respected in the San Diego golf community and had a widespread impact in the San Diego community. After retirement in 1994, David combined his love of golf with his fundraising skills and continued to raise money for San Diego charities. He often commented that his favorite part of golf was the wonderful relationships he built over the years. He was a fun-loving, quick-witted man who enjoyed organizing golf trips, tournaments, and vacations for friends. He was a member of the Century Club and Pauma Valley Country Club. His presence and influence will be missed by many.David is survived by his wife, Jeanette Bossi, two children from his first marriage to Linda Barkman Koravos, Alexis Ayala (Armando) and David, grandchildren, Charlie, Cali, Kruz, and Kash, and three stepchildren, Monica, Steven and Krista. David is also survived by his three siblings, Daniel, Deborah Kay and Dean.
