Library Volunteers Honored
Beverly Martin and Dorothy Ansoff were recognized in September at the annual meeting of the citywide Friends of the Diego Public Library as Volunteers of the Year for the Scripps Ranch branch. Beverly’s service to our library dates back to the months before our original storefront library opened in 1986. Back then she traveled to the Central Library to process books destined for our new library and continues today to process the new acquisitions by applying the various ownership markings. The staff appreciates her hard work and cheerful good humor. Dorothy has volunteered at our library continuously since 1989. She is responsible for applying the special protective covers to books that have been donated and also pitches in to help with shelving books and whatever else needs to be done. Her dedication and flexibility are much appreciated. Dorothy and Beverly are features in the Library workroom two mornings each week and have served our Library for a combined total of 38 years!
