Scott Parker from the University of California Cooperative Extension Healthy Garden

The Healthy Home program and the UC Master Gardener Program will speak on managing ants and other pests in your home and garden through a method called Integrate Pest Management (IPM). IPM, a scientifically based approach for pest management, includes cultural, mechanical, biological and chemical options as part of an overall pest management program. The primary focus of an IPM program is to use a non-toxic or least-toxic approach in addressing pest concerns. This workshop will focus on managing ants, with the proper implementation of an IPM approach.

Other common landscape pests such as snails & slugs, gophers, and honeydew producing insects (aphids, scale, whitefly and mealybugs) will also be addressed.
