Three Ways to a Sustainable Landscape
Wednesday, January 9 2013, 6:30-8 pm
SRCA Community Center, 11885 Cypress Canyon Rd

Lynlee Austell-Slayter, MBA, UCCE Master Gardener, Sustainable Landscape Expert, & Edible Landscape Trainer comes from a family of prize-winning gardeners and scientists. Her life vision is to support the environment and share her joy in nature through her work as a sustainable landscaper. According to Lynlee, creating a sustainable landscape can be rather simple, but keeping it sustainable requires sustainable maintenance practices. These techniques save time, money and habitat while providing conscientious stewardship of our environment and all who work in our gardens.

This presentation includes before-and-after examples of residential and commercial sites showcasing these three paths to sustainable landscapes:
1. Keep everything you have and simply change your maintenance techniques and cultural
practices.
2. Make moderate changes in plant material and irrigation equipment.
3. Perform a full landscape renovation..
In addition, Lynlee will review current University of California and County Extension programs
and research in sustainable landscapes, and will answer our questions.
