Scripps Ranch Planning Group (SRPG)

Community Planners Meeting

The Scripps Ranch Planning Group (SRPG) did not hold its regular meeting in July because of the holiday. Some members attended the Community Planners Committee meeting in June.

The City Council has voted to reimburse planning group expenses, but rules for this are not yet in place. Work continues on alcohol licensing, utility undergrounding, pedestrian safety issues, and new administrative guidelines for planning groups. Some members also attended a workshop on the city’s review process for proposed public or private projects.

Wireless Telecommunications Facilities in StoneBridge

As reported last month, the Planning Commission heard the AT&T proposal to install antenna trees at the water tank on Stonebridge Parkway in mid-June. The SRPG had voted in June to recommend denial of the application. The Planning Commission voted 6-0 to approve the application. Affected residents are considering an appeal to the City Council.

Carroll Canyon “Big Box” Proposal

Again this month there has been no change in status—we still are waiting for the final Environmental Impact Report. When it is complete, the SRPG will vote on a recommendation to the City Council on the project.

There will be opportunities for public comment at SRPG meetings and Planning Commission and City Council hearings. Please visit the Scripps Ranch Civic Association (SRCA) website at [www.scrippsranch.org] to complete the survey of residents’ opinions concerning this project, and visit the website often to keep up with events that affect our community.

Senior Living Community

Rick Aschenbrenner of Continuing Life Communities informs us that project planning for The Glen at Scripps Ranch Senior Living Project is proceeding on track. They are assisting the city in preparation of the draft Environmental Impact Report.

Next Meeting

We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 7 pm at the Scripps Ranch Library. Our next meeting is on Thursday, Aug. 7. All meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at [[email protected]].
