Miramar Ranch North Planning Committee (MRNPC)

Join Us!

The Miramar Ranch North Planning Committee (MRNPC) meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm at the Information Center. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The MRNPC currently has five vacancies. Members must be at least 18 years old and either live in or represent a property owner or a business within the Miramar Ranch North planning area. This includes most of the Scripps Ranch neighborhoods north of Miramar Lake.

In addition, you must have attended at least one meeting within the past 12 months. If you are interested in getting more involved with your community and helping to shape future development, please contact our Vice Chair Bill Bernard at 549-0979. Elections will be held at our August meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 7 pm at the Information Center.

We have many important community issues facing the MRNPC. We hope you join us at our next meeting.

Dog Park

At the request of one of our residents, the MRNPC had a brief discussion about possible locations for a fenced off-leash dog park within Scripps Ranch. Two areas that were mentioned were the Scripps Ranch business park over the water tank, and the SDG&E easement area near the San Lucena-La Merida development.

At this point, this was just a discussion about possible locations and the MRNPC made no recommendations. Obviously, further studies and discussions would need to take place, in addition to a petition process, before anything could be finalized.

This is an ongoing issue in our community. If you have any interest in this topic, please contact MRNPC Chair Peggy Shirey at 530-3833. She will put you in touch with the individual spearheading this effort.

Upcoming Events

MedImpact will meet with the new projects subcommittee to discuss the sign program for its corporate center. It will be built on the southeast corner of Scripps Poway Parkway and I-15.

The proposal will then be presented to the full committee at either the MRNPC’s June or August meeting. Please contact Peggy Shirey at 530-3833 if you would like more information about this project, or if you would like to be added to the distribution list for the agendas for upcoming MRNPC meetings. We hope you get involved.
