Scripps-Mesa Bible Church
Are you looking for a place that will help you grow spiritually? A place where people will know your name, are glad you came, and will challenge you in your spiritual and emotional development?
Are you looking for a place where people love God and serve one another, a place where you can be accepted for who you are apart from the badges and status symbols we hide behind? We are Scripps-Mesa Bible Church (SMBC), a smaller church of about 200 members who seek to provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance, where individuals and families can grow in the awareness of who God is and who they are.
The question is, are you hungry for something more in life which will make you a deeper individual with a purpose and value which transcends both time and space? Are you ready for an encounter with the living God, the creator of the heavens and earth? We are SMBC.
First Baptist Church of Mira Mesa
Summer doldrums do not exist at First Baptist! The month comes in on a high-note with Vacation Bible School’s (VBS) Undersea Adventures, continuing on from July. Activities will be held each evening at 6 pm through Sunday, Aug. 6, when there will be a Parents’ Night. Adult classes will be held, along with the somewhat rowdy children’s activities.
At the same time, during August 4-12, several of our youth will be on a drama tour. Our teens have their own “hip” version of VBS, called WOWSBAR, during August 20-24, to be held off the church grounds. These fun-loving teens are the same ones who are committed to regularly feeding homeless people, as they will do on Sunday, Aug. 20. Our single adults are planning to take an all-day cruise to Catalina on Sunday, Aug. 13.
Another fun-filled evening of eating and listening to good music will occur on Sunday, Aug. 27, when we will host another community cookout and courtyard concert at 6 pm.
We offer many opportunities for Bible study and fellowshipping. Call 566-3671 to find out where you can fit in at First Baptist!
Northstar Church invites you to join us for our special summer events. We are an interdenominational Christian church. We welcome neighbors from all faith backgrounds. We provide rewarding and fun programs for every age group, including active elementary, middle school, and high school groups. Please call the church office at 549-2479 for meeting times.
Adult and children’s Sunday schools meet at Miramar Ranch Elementary School at 9 am, and the church service and children’s church begin at 10 am. Loving childcare is provided for infants and toddlers every Sunday.
Ladies, please join us from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, Aug. 25, for “Women at the Well,” a time of food, fellowship, and fun. For more information, call Debbie Gordon at 693-3346. Northstar is proud to be a faith family where each person is encouraged to question, wrestle with God, and think for themselves.
