Pack 615 Fun!

Fall marks a return to school as well as the resumption of Scouting activities! Thanks to everyone who joined us for our annual Raingutter Regatta at the Scripps Ranch Community Park. The boys had fun building and racing boats, and, hopefully, those who were curious about Scouting got to see what our pack is all about.

We’ve already squeezed in our first camping trip of the year, with a visit to Indian Hills in Jamul. This is one of the highlights of the kids’ year, with ziplining, BMX courses, and more. We’re eyeing a return trip in the spring, so please join us!

If you’re interested in becoming a Pack 615 cub scout or would like more information, please visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CubScoutPack615, or email our cubmaster, Josh Vosovic, at [email protected]

Pack 616 Blasts Into A New Year!

Friends and families of Pack 616 gathered at the Scripps Ranch Community Park at the end of the summer for the pack’s first annual Bottle Rocket Day. Using a two-liter bottle, duct tape, cardboard, and fasteners, teams of future rocket scientists designed and created rockets that were launched high into the air over Scripps Ranch. Everyone has so much fun! The pack also welcomed prospective new members at the event.

Earlier in the summer some pack members marched in the Scout Parade at Petco Park on All Scout Day. They also got a one-of-a-kind Padres hat that commemorated 100 years of Scouting. Unfortunately, the Padres fell to the Nationals 4-1 in a pitchers’ duel.

Are you a boy in 1st through 5th grade who likes fun, adventure, and activities? Are you a parent of such a boy who’s interested in providing a positive place where your son can enjoy safe, wholesome activities that focus on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service? Pack 616 wants you!

We are always looking for new families to join our pack. Interested families can get more details on our website at www.pack616.com. For more information about Scouting, go to www.scouting.org/scoutsource/CubScouts.aspx.

Pack 614 Starts a New Year!

Pack 614 cub scouts finished up a busy summer! The fun included launching water rockets at Lakeview Park, racing handmade boats in the annual Raingutter Regatta, playing laser tag, and viewing the solar eclipse with pinhole cameras they crafted themselves.

In September the pack held its first meeting of the 2017–2018 season and welcomed new Lion and Tigers scouts, as well as new adult leaders. We’re very excited to have them, and we wish them well on their journey toward the Arrow of Light and beyond into Boy Scouts.

Also at the pack meeting the boys learned about the importance of first responders and emergency preparedness, an especially important topic with the recent hurricanes. The scouts started signing up for the pack’s annual Family Campout at Indian Hills that goes from Friday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 8. Activities will include BMX biking, ziplining, “gold” mining, as well as skits and sing-alongs, and, of course, the popular s’mores around the campfires!

If you have a boy in kindergarten through 5th grade who is interested in Cub Scouts with our active pack, please visit our website at www.pack614.com. We look forward to meeting you!
