We Need You!

Scripps Ranch Little League (SRLL) is looking for volunteers for our open board positions. If you are interested in volunteering, please email me at [[email protected]]. Our most pressing need is a sponsorship coordinator. The person will work with managers and division reps to develop and supervise our critical corporate sponsorship program.

This role includes communicating to teams about the need to secure a sponsor, collecting sponsorship checks, and supporting our sponsors for their generosity. Ideally, this will be someone willing to work with area businesses to develop a sponsorship program that supports their businesses while helping fund our league.

If you are with a business that is interested in sponsoring a team, please visit [www.scrippsranchll.org]. It’s never too early to consider partnering with SRLL and the hundreds of Scripps Ranch families who support our sponsors each year.

Clinics: SRLL will offer a variety of clinics beginning in late November or early December. Our goal is to offer two pitching clinics, a skills clinic, an Intermediate clinic, the SRHS Clinic, coaches clinics, and a catchers clinic. Our website will have more information.

Umpires: SRLL is looking for participants at all levels in our youth umpire program. Kids who turn 11 years old by Apr. 30, 2014 are eligible. Visit our website at [www.scrippsranchll.org] for details.

Registration: SRLL player registration for the spring season begins in early November. If you would like more information, please visit our website.

Registration for 2014 opens on Friday, Nov. 1. Look for more information soon and on the Scripps Ranch Softball website noted above. We expect to have a large group of players for spring softball, so register on or after Nov. 1.

Sponsorships for the 2013–2014 season are a great way to get your name and logo in front of hundreds of local Scripps Ranch residents. For more information on how you can participate as a sponsor, contact Monica Denosta at [[email protected]] or visit our website.

Scripps Ranch Soccer Club

The Scripps Ranch Soccer Club’s (SRSC) 2013 season is underway, with more than 1,500 recreational and competitive players. Some of the regular soccer season schedules will go through mid-December, with tournament play continuing thereafter. Please stop by one of our community fields on a Saturday to support our youth soccer.

We always need more sponsors. A full sponsorship costs $300. The names of our sponsors are displayed on a large banner at various soccer games throughout the season, and they are recognized in a number of other ways. For more information, visit our website at [http://scrippsranchsc.com] or call 974-5393.

Scripps Ranch Women’s Athletic Club

The Scripps Ranch Women’s Athletic Club (SRWAC) is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide the residents of Scripps Ranch and nearby communities with sports programs and sports-related support. The SRWAC offers basketball, volleyball, and soccer leagues throughout the year for women 25 years of age or older, as well as coed softball.

We focus our fundraising and volunteer efforts in Scripps Ranch: we provide scholarships annually for local high school girls, support youth and high school sports, and sponsor Symphony in the Park. Visit [www.srwac.org] for details.

San Diego Finals Basketball Champions!

The Scripps Ranch Falcons won the 11U San Diego Finals AAU basketball championship at Alliant International University. The kids from Scripps opened the tournament against the Los Angeles Fastbreak 5. Late in the first half, up 22-16, Scripps Ranch went on a 23-0 run to end the game with a 45-16 win.

After beating Las Vegas Wee Zoom, Scripps faced the undefeated Santa Clarita Impact. Down most of the game, the Falcons played their game of the tournament. With great team play, clutch shooting, and a relentless fastbreak, Scripps Ranch came from behind for the 44-41 victory.

In the final game Scripps beat a solid Rancho Santa Margarita Legends squad 38-28 to win the championship!
