Register to Play Ball!

Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about baseball again! Registration for the 2013 Scripps Ranch Little League (SRLL) season begins very soon. Once again our league is open to players ages 5 to 18 for competition across a number of divisions. As a reminder SRLL age is calculated by determining the age of the player as of Apr. 30, 2013.

SRLL will conduct online registration for returning players. For those joining SRLL for the first time, a walk-in registration will be held in early December. Please see the SRLL website at [] for details.

Over the coming months there will be many activities to prepare for the season.

  • SRLL registration: early November through early December;
  • Managers and coaches selected in late December or early January;
  • Player assessments on Saturdays in mid- to late January;
  • Division drafts and team assignments in late January;
  • Practices begin in early February, with teams usually practicing twice a week until the season starts; and,
  • Games begin in early March, maybe later for T-Ball.

SRLL is a volunteer-run organization that is always looking for help. Please consider volunteering your time to help the league in whatever way you can. If you are interested or if you would like further information, please send me an email at [[email protected]]. For more information about SRLL, please visit [].

Scripps Ranch Soccer Club

The Scripps Ranch Soccer Club (SRSC) would like to thank its many sponsors, those who provided contributions during online registration, our coaches, and the hundreds of volunteers who made this a fun and rewarding soccer season. Our club could not operate or service more than 1,500 players without our sponsors, coaches, and volunteers.

The SRSC’s 2012 Recreational End-of-Season Tournament will be played on Saturday, Nov. 10 and 17, at our community fields. This has traditionally been an action-packed fun tournament for all! If you have not yet done so, please stop by one of our community fields on a Saturday to watch our youth soccer.

Our Recreational All-Star Tournament is scheduled to take place the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16 at our community fields. This tournament has club all-star teams, comprised of their top recreational soccer players, compete for medals and trophies. All are encouraged to come enjoy these games.

For more information about the SRSC, visit [] or call the hotline at 974-5393.

Scripps Ranch Pop Warner Football and Cheer

It seems like the season just started and we are already planning the end-of-the-year parties! We are finishing up our seventh season and it was another great year! All of our teams had an exciting time at Scripps Ranch Pop Warner (SRPW) night at the high school last month. Our cheer squads also performed great routines at the cheer competition at Viejas Arena in late October.

Also in late October our Jr. Mighty Mite team had its Chocolate Chip Bowl and our Mighty Mite team had its Chocolate Bowls. We will have our end-of-the-season banquet on Saturday, Nov. 10, and we will collect equipment on Saturday, Nov. 3 and 17.

We have had great feedback from all the families that they are happy with what their children are learning about teamwork, hard work, commitment, and the fundamentals of football and cheer. We hope these values carry with them as they get older. We also want to thank our volunteers, coaches, board members, and families for helping make SRPW such a great organization.

If your family is interested in getting involved with SRPW, please visit our website for information. We will interview for head coaches in February, and our sign-ups for next season begin in March. For details, visit our website at [].
