SRWAC Announces Scholarship Recipients

The Scripps Ranch Women’s Athletic Club (SRWAC) congratulates Scripps Ranch High School graduates Claire Caputo, Amber Chau, Chloe Ding, and Sabine Menzhausen and Melody Day of High Tech High School as this year’s college scholarship recipients. These impressive young women were selected based on their academic, athletic, and community service achievements. We wish them the best in their academic and career goals!

The SRWAC is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide the residents of Scripps Ranch and nearby communities with sports programs and sports-related support. Please visit for information and registration details.

Women’s Basketball: We will host three open gym nights on the first three Mondays in August: Aug. 1, 8, and 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Our fall season begins on Monday, Aug. 22, and runs for 10 weeks. We play on Monday nights at the Scripps Ranch Recreation Center and welcome newcomers! We require new players to join us for at least one open gym. No registration required for that.

Women’s Soccer: The fall season of our league begins on Wednesday, Aug. 24. We play Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Women’s Volleyball: We offer a recreational league for women 25 years or older on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. 

Softball All-Stars are District Champions!

The Scripps Ranch Softball Association (SRSA) congratulates the 14U All-Star team for winning the North San Diego District championship. It’s the first district championship for Scripps Ranch since the 2006 8U All-Star team won the South San Diego championship!

The team went 4-0 in the tournament and won the championship game against San Marcos 23-5. Congratulations to all the players and coaches (below)!

Registration for the Scripps Ranch Lacrosse (SRLAX) Girls Fall Ball is now open. Interested girls in grades 5–8 are encouraged to register regardless of experience level. Soccer players and interested 4th graders with at least one season of experience, or 9th graders with no previous experience, also are welcome.

Scripps Ranch Soccer Club

Socctoberfest ceremonies for the Scripps Ranch Soccer Club (SRSC) are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, from noon to 5 pm at the Scripps Ranch Community Park. Activities will include a giant slide for the players and youth, soccer games, a banner contest, and various drills and competitions for prizes! We will have food booths from local restaurants, retail sales booths, and many other activities! All are invited to this fun-filled event! Our Socctoberfest ceremonies replace Opening Day this year.

The SRSC is accepting late registrations. If you have a child between the ages of 5 and 19 who would like to play soccer this season, please promptly contact registrar Rick Harmonson at [email protected] or director of coaching ChaCha Namdar at [email protected] Since our teams have been formed, registration is subject to availability. Recreational soccer practices begin in mid-August, and games start Saturday, Sept. 10.
