Register Now for Basketball!

National Junior Basketball (NJB) celebrates its 32nd anniversary and our Scripps Ranch chapter is getting ready to start its 19th season! Our chapter is the largest in the county. NJB’s program is designed to introduce, teach, and develop the fundamentals of basketball to our youth, as well as promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition. We feel this creates a valuable learning experience for children in our community and hope it fosters great enthusiasm for the game.

Last year we had 48 teams and 475 children in NJB. The league is made up of boys and girls in grades 3–8 of all skill levels. Practices are typically once a week, and games are played on weekends in the Scripps Ranch High School gym. Registration is open at www.ScrippsRanchNJB.org. Important information:

  • Saturday, Oct. 1—Registration ends
  • Sunday, Oct. 2 and 9—Assessments
  • Monday, Oct. 31—Practices begin
  • Registration—$160 through Friday, Sept. 30; $190 after Sept. 30
  • Uniforms—$50

We are looking for coaches in every division! If you have questions, please contact us at [email protected] We look forward to seeing you out on the courts!

Soccer Season

is Here!

The Scripps Ranch Soccer Club’s (SRSC) recreational teams begin their season on Saturday, Sept. 10. Our competitive teams already started play. We wish them all a fun and rewarding season. Come to the fields on Saturdays to watch our soccer games.

We will not have an Opening Day Ceremony this year. Instead, our Socctoberfest Ceremonies for the SRSC are on Sunday, Oct. 2, from noon to 5 pm at the Scripps Ranch Community Park. Activities will include a giant slide for the kids, soccer games, and drills and competitions for prizes! Also, we will have food booths, retail sales booths, and other activities!

We are always looking for more sponsors. A full sponsorship costs $300. The names of our sponsors are displayed on a large banner at soccer games throughout the season and recognized in our “Sponsor Thank You” page in the SRCA Newsletter.

Our sponsors also receive a “Thank You” plaque and invitation for two to our sponsor/coach year-end dinner. We encourage all sponsors and potential sponsors to visit www.scrippsranchsc.com and see the exciting sponsorship opportunities.

We look forward to a fun season!

Joe Barr, SRSC President
