Scripps Ranch Softball Association
Softball practices have started for all teams. Opening Day is Sunday, Feb. 24, at Cypress Canyon Park. It should be a lot of fun for everyone. Here are some other dates to keep in mind:
- Saturday, Apr. 27–SR Softball Night at the Padres vs. SF Giants
- Scripps Ranch Softball Movie Night–date TBA
Please check [www.srsoftball.org] for more details on both these events.
Sponsorships for the 2013 season are still needed. It’s a great way to get your name and logo in front of hundreds of Scripps Ranch residents while supporting this all-volunteer youth softball sports organization.
We have several levels for you to choose from to fit your budget. For more information on how you can participate as a sponsor, please visit our website or contact Brady Hamilton at 395-1030. We look forward to hearing from you!
It’s a Hit!
It’s time to play ball! Scripps Ranch Little League (SRLL) teams start practice in February, and games start in early March. It’s a busy time on our community baseball fields.
SRLL is a nonprofit organization and your sponsorships are welcome and needed. Donations are tax deductible. Our registration fee covers most of the "basics"–uniforms, chalk, insurance, and umpire fees–but registration doesn’t pay for much more.
Simply put, registration does not pay for many, if any, of the things we need to make playing safer, such as updated equipment and well-maintained fields, or for items such as scoreboards, clinics, and batting cages. Visit our website at [www.ScrippsRanchLL.org] for details and for any questions about SRLL.
Pop Warner Athletes Selected to All-Star Team
Congratulations to Noel Sanchez (#52) (above left) and Payton Rezanka (#44) from our Scripps Ranch Pop Warner Jr. Midget team! Both boys were nominated by their head coach, Patrick Yandall, to compete for a position on the 2012 San Diego County 7th grade All-Star Team. About 50 players from San Diego County were nominated by their head coaches to attend tryouts. Noel and Payton were among 30 players selected to represent San Diego County and compete in Football University’s 2nd Annual Championship Tournament.
SR Women’s Athletic Club
The Scripps Ranch Women’s Athletic Club (SRWAC) is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to provide the residents of Scripps Ranch and nearby communities with sports programs and sports-related support. The SRWAC offers volleyball, basketball, and soccer for women ages 25 and older, and softball for men and women 25 and older. All leagues are designed to be fun, recreational, and non-competitive.
These programs are a great way to stay active, learn or improve skills, and meet new people. SRWAC members receive a discount on all programs. For details, visit [www.srwac.org].
