Heat Wins Again

“The Heat,” pictured above, has won the last two seasons of men’s basketball in Scripps Ranch, since the opening of the Recreation Center. They are now 6-0 this season, with an overall record of 28 wins and 4 losses in the last three seasons. The team name “The Heat” was inspired by Captain Rick Rodstrom who is a brother-in-law to Pat Riley, who coaches the NBA Miami Heat team and provides winning plays and pretty good subs.

Scripps Ranch Soccer Club

We’re gearing up for another exciting soccer season and want you to know that registration will be taking place at Jerabek Elementary School on Saturdays, May 5 and May 12, from 10 am to 2 pm. Fees are $85 for the first child and $75 for siblings. Please bring a copy of your players birth certificate to registration. During this time, we will be asking for volunteers and sponsors. Please make sure you fill out a volunteer form to coach, be an assistant coach, help with fields, or be a team mom. We always appreciate the help we get from the community.

The State Cup tournament for competitive soccer teams is in progress and two of our teams have won their brackets in the first round and will be advancing to the next level of competition. They are: Cha Cha’s girls U-14 and Kareem Marzouk’s boys U-14. Congratulations to both teams; we wish you luck in Bakersfield!

Competitive tryouts for older teams, boys and girls U-15 and older, will take place at Scripps Ranch High School, on Monday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 15. Please check our website [] for the schedule.
