SRHS Football Practice Kicks Off
Falcon Football for the 2001 season starts this month. Coach Kevin Hedges and his coaching staff expect more than 120 new and returning players. This year we will have a separate Freshman team with a full schedule of games.

Starting August 20th football players will be selling $5 donation tickets for our fund raising raffle. The winner of the raffle will receive a 7 Night Mexican Riviera Cruise for Two on Princess Cruise Lines. The drawing will be held on September 21st at Halftime of the Varsity Home Game against Mission Bay.

Congratulations to Scripps United Boy’s Under 11 Red team for their first place finish in the countywide Pegasus Cup Tournament. Scripps United defeated the San Diego Fire in the finals 5-2 on July 1 at UCSD. Amid great fanfare and ceremony the team received their gold medals and a beautiful crystal soccer ball team trophy, which will be proudly displayed in the Scripps Ranch Recreation Center trophy case. Contributing to the championship were Michael Crimi, Kyle Dickerson, Brett Dudley, Nicholas Guerra, Eric Leon, Greg Moy, Bryan Niemiec, Adam Philips, Niko Podimatis, Dennis Roth, Daniel Tarantino, Nicolas Schauffele, and Yoel Lustgarten. Special thanks to the proud coach Heibat Seyf and our indispensable team manager Lisa Roth.
Also, congratulations to the Scripps United Boy’s Under 11 team of Michael Crimi, Niko Podimatis, Dennis Roth, and Grey Moy for their first place finish in the Nokia 3 on 3 soccer tournament held on June 23-24 at Black Mountain Middle School.
Great job guys! You’re off to a great start and the season doesn’t officially start until September.
Scripps Ranch Soccer Club Opening Day
Opening Day for the SRSC is Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Scripps Ranch Community Park. The festivities will begin around noon and last until 5 pm. The season opening games will take place on Saturday, Sept. 8; therefore no conflict will exist between Opening Day activities and soccer games. The league’s Picture Day will also take place on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Bring an Appetite!
Food booths from many local restaurants will be on hand, plus SRSC team fundraising booths, along with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts who will also be selling a variety of food.
Activities will include an Astro Jump for kids, a Dunk Tank for a favorite coach or anyone brave enough, Coaches’ Soccer Game (Rec. Boys vs Rec. Girls), Competitive vs Old Pros All Star Soccer Game, Local sports personalities to sign autographs, Soccer USA retail sales booth, Soccer Games such as dribbling competition and goal kicking for prizes!
