SR Little League

Each year, the first place teams from both the American and National Leagues in Minors AAA and Majors divisions attend the Tournament of Champions. It is a single-elimination tournament that includes the 15 teams in our local district.

This year, Scripps Ranch Little League will add one more championship pennant to its collection. The Minors AAA White Sox are the championship team of the District 32 Minors Tournament of Champions!

Managed by Peter Dreszer and coached by Tom Fawcett, these 12 boys remained undefeated throughout this single-elimination tournament. The White Sox began the tournament by beating Presidio, 18-8.

Three days later, they scored an 8-2 victory over the tournament hosts, Clairemont Hilltoppers. Four days after that, the White Sox beat Mira Mesa, 5-2.

The teams were getting harder to beat each time. The tournament ended with the White Sox facing undefeated Rancho Penasquitos Central (RPC) in the championship game. RPC scored one run in the top of the first inning. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when Scripps Ranch got a run.

In two exciting extra innings, the White Sox had runners on second and third with two outs. Then, a hard hit ball to RPC’s all-star shortstop was overthrown to first, scoring the winning run.

Congratulations to our Minors AAA White Sox, all of them all-stars. The team members are: Tyler Zuchowski, Warren Woolsey, Philip Walby, David Klueck, Evan Khoury, Ed Higginbotham, Andrew Fehl, Daniel Fawcett, Miles Dreszer, Max Denhart, Miles Cole, and Zac Bange.

Thanks to SRLL Sponsors

Scripps Ranch Little League (SRLL) would like to thank this year’s sponsors. We also request that all who participate in our Little League program, and the rest of the community, support these very generous people.

Running our program is very expensive compared to our other youth programs. It requires extensive player and umpire equipment and field maintenance, as well as uniforms, umpire fees, and trophies.

Without the assistance of our sponsors, registration would be much more than it is today. This year, we began a Diamond Club sponsorship program for any sponsor who donates more than $1,000.

Many thanks to A.G. Edwards for their very generous donation and the two beautiful scoreboards at Jerabek Park. Our gratitude also goes out to:
