It is with great sadness that we inform you of a death in the Steven Winter Family from Scripps Ranch. It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Steven R. Winter, beloved husband of Jennifer, father of Austin, Carson, and Jaxson, brother of Eric, Joel, Aneshia, Jennifer, and Marty.

Steven was born on December 4, 1969, in Chicago, but grew up in Miami, Florida and San Diego, California. Steven graduated from Chico State with a degree in Geography. He always had a passion for flying and knew he wanted to be a pilot since he was 5 years old. He used to ride his bike to the San Diego airport to watch the planes take off and listen to air traffic control. Steven was a devoted commercial airline pilot for SkyWest for 25 years, and was looking forward to his work anniversary this June.

Steven was a reliable friend and family member. He would drop everything he was doing to assist with anything from fixing computers, household repairs, iPhone issues, financial education, budget planning, and electronics installation.

Something everyone admired about Steven was he never waivered from his true authentic self. He always helped his family members find the best deal when shopping. You always knew what to expect in your interactions with Steven.

Steven was involved in the design and construction of Fairbrook Park which he later was the Chantemar HOA President.

The sudden loss of Steven has created a void in our lives and he will be deeply missed forever. We will cherish the memories we created with him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 9001 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego, followed by a meal of condolence.
