SCALA, TAMARA (DeANGELIS) October 27, 1968 to February 16, 2013 Tami was born in San Diego in 1968, and grew up in one of the first families to form the community of Scripps Ranch. She was the oldest child of Al and Linda DeAngelis. She attended the local grade and middle schools and graduated from Mira Mesa High in 1986, where she excelled as a student and as a cheerleader. She graduated from SDSU with honors and several degrees in 1992. Anyone who knew Tami was immediately touched by her caring for others and her love of life. Her ability to make others laugh, and her heart of gold made her loved by all who met her. She was a loving, compassionate mother, wife, daughter and sister. She made it her mission to help others around her to reach and exceed their full potential, while in return she asked for nothing. Tami worked at U-T San Diego since 1996 and was entrusted with handling some of the largest, most diverse business accounts in our region. She demonstrated the same care, concern, and integrity with her clients that she did with everyone in her everyday life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and by her son Antone, husband Tony, and her parents Al and Linda DeAngelis who survive her. She made a positive impact on every one of us and will not be forgotten. Heaven must have needed another Angel, and the void she has left behind cannot be filled by anything of this world. In summary, no author in this world, no amount of words, and days or weeks of trying can accurately convey how caring Tami was, and how dearly she will be missed. We can only hope to provide a glimpse and small snapshot of the heart and soul of Tami DeAngelis – Scala.
